Across the North East, an annual chimney sweep is one of the simplest things a homeowner can do to keep their family safe. Yet too many sweeps leave behind dust, missing certificates, or a vague "you'll be fine until next year" without checking. We started Black Diamond to do it properly.
Every visit ends with the same three things: a clean chimney, a written safety certificate, and a hearth that looks like nobody was ever there.
Black Diamond is HETAS-registered and fully insured. We use modern rotary power-sweeping equipment, HEPA-sealed vacuum extraction, and dust sheets on every floor we cross. Sweeps usually take 45–60 minutes; your safety certificate is emailed before we leave.
If something needs attention — a worn rope seal, a cracked liner, a struggling draw — we'll show you, photograph it, and explain your options plainly. No upselling.

What we believe
Dust sheets down, vacuum sealed, boots off. The hearth should look untouched when we go — only the chimney is different.
If a chimney needs relining, a stove needs retiring, or the job is fine as is, we'll say so plainly. No upsell, no scare tactics.
Photos, certificates, condition notes — emailed before we leave. Your records, your evidence, your peace of mind.
Shoes off. Mugs unmoved. Pets considered. Children entertained where possible. It's your space — we're guests in it.
Two-hour windows, not four. A text when we're on our way. If we're running late, you'll know before we do.
